INFORMATION ON THE STATE OF LOUISIANA’S COMPUTER SYSTEMS IS MADE AVAILABLE AS A PUBLIC SERVICE, WITHOUT EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, AND IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING DISCLAIMERS:
1. Accuracy, Changes, and Continuity of Service. The State of Louisiana (State) tries to ensure that the information made available on www.led.state.la.us websites is accurate and complete. Due to factors beyond the control of the State however, it cannot guarantee against unauthorized modifications of information or errors made in inputting and posting data. The State may make changes to a web page at any time to update, add or correct the information made available. The State may elect to charge a fee for accessing or using information from the State's computer system, or may suspend or discontinue making the information available.
2. No Warranties. The State disclaims any express or implied warranties related to making its computer system available for public use, and for any materials, information, graphics, products, or processes contained within its computer system. The State reserves the right to use any legally appropriate measures to prevent and investigate anyone attempting to modify, deface, delete or otherwise tamper with or abuse a State website, server, database, information system or other State technology asset.
7. Louisiana Law and Jurisdiction. The materials made available for public use on the State's websites are from computer systems located within the State, and are for the use and benefit of the citizens of Louisiana. Any person who uses these systems or attempts to gain access to information or materials on these systems is subject to the jurisdiction of the State of Louisiana. Any dispute arising from a person using or attempting to use information or materials on the State's websites shall be determined in accordance with Louisiana laws and in the courts of Louisiana.

Access for everyone*
It’s really about doing the right thing. It's about helping 65 million Americans with disabilities achieve transparent access to information. Aging baby boomers now in the workforce will need some of the technology solutions ierging from Section 508 efforts. The state of Louisiana works to ensure access for disabled citizens and iployees to information, technology, state facilities, and parks and other recreational opportunities.
Follow federal accessibility guidelines
Federal officials say adhering to Section 508 regulations and improving accessibility for people with disabilities make good business sense. Enabling everyone to do their jobs, using the tools that help thi best do their jobs, is simply good business and helps individuals become fully integrated into the workplace.
The purpose of this web page
Although not required by regulation or law, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) seeks to bring State of Louisiana Web sites into basic compliance with Section 508 code by providing the necessary information to State of Louisiana webmasters and designers, to enable thi to comply with the Section 508 Standard of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 U.S.C. 794d). Section 508 requires that when federal agencies develop, procure, maintain, or use electronic and information technology, federal iployees with disabilities have access and use of information and data that are comparable to the access and use by Federal iployees who are not individuals with disabilites, unless an undue burden would be imposed on the agency. These provisions of the standards provide the requirients that must be followed by federal agencies. Compliance requires adherence to the Section 508 Standard, Section (1194.22) Paragraphs A through P. To assist with implientation of Section 508 requirients, the following resources are available:

Another important link is the GSA’s Assistance for Americans with Disabilities. This site includes plug-ins, file viewers, and alternate contact information.
The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) provides the Voluntary Product Accessibility Tiplate, designed to aid federal contracting officials in fulfilling their acquisition planning responsibilities. This tiplate is a voluntary tool that industry contractors can utilize or modify to provide information regarding their own particular product characteristics.
Another site to visit is the Accessibility Forum, an ongoing collaboration among those affected by Section 508 including users, industry, government, and others to benefit people with disabilities. The Forum is in the process of prioritizing projects that assist government in making informed decisions about Section 508 related procurient, and allow all parties to communicate where further effort is needed.
